While in physio today, I finally managed to read two short stories downloaded from grahammasterton.co.uk. They’ve been sitting in my download file for ages, and I have always meant to read them. Some of Graham Masterton‘s stories, only available on his website, are pretty good (e.g. Camelot ). But in a nutshell, they don’t compare to his published works.
So I began with “Battered Wife“, a short story about an abused spouse. Four pages short, there really isn’t much too it, except it’s all about choices. Leave now? Leave later? What are the consequences? This got me through the heat compress bit of my physio.
Then I read the longer “Saint Bronach’s Shrift“, which is, sadly, predictable. Sorry to say, but by the time the second dream occurred, I knew what was going to happen!
Still, Graham Masterton is one of my favourite horror writers. Disappointing, but these were just to kill time (and for diehard fans!).
