Utusan had another law suit filed against it last week. Malaysiakini reports that MP Teresa Kok has filed a RM30 million defamation suit against Utusan Malaysia and former journalist Chamil Wariya.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you would know this is to do with a short piece of fiction written by former journalist, Wariya, which tells of a female MP, “Josephine” who is anti-Malay and anti-Islam, and who was eventually murdered for the betterment of the nation.

Kok had also earlier filed a RM30 million defamation suit against the Malay language newspaper and its columnist, Zaini Hassan, over another piece which allegedly defamed her. Meanwhile, Utusan filed a suit against Kok for allegedly defaming the paper when she was said to have accused the daily of distorting her statements about the food she was served while under ISA detention.
