More arrests

Paula, aka Master Wordsmith Unplugged, was arrested in Penang yesterday. This is indescribably sad, and a little silly too. I told a friend about this this afternoon, and he said, “The more they arrest, the more angry people are going to become,”

Well, since their two-thirds majority wasn’t a lesson, perhaps a 49% minority or less might give them something to think about? Or will they still scratch their head and wonder…

Okay, a few updates on my end:

  1. I have been busy, as mentioned, and am working hard on a two new ideas. This might mean this blog might be updated less often, but again, this blog is a consolidation of all my writing, so the ideas should end up here.
  2. On the Samy Vellu wanting 100 people to contest the MIC presidency – kind of like the Najib’s ‘intellectual infrastructure’ comment. Eyeballs getting quite some exercise rolling about recently…
  3. No appeal on Razak Baginda’s acquittal – hardly shocking news actually, but then again, an appeal filed against RPK’s release? One was accused of writing, the other accused of murder, I wonder which is the more serious offence? Malaysians are funding these legal wrangling, we are paying the Ministers, the DPP, the judges and the police. To what end, I wonder…
  4. Proxy fight between Abdullah Badawi and Mahathir through Khairy and Mukhriz respectively – I’m not keen on both, but if pressed to choose, it’ll be Khairy. I’m so beyond slapping my forehead with Mahathir’s recent comments. Badawi caused corruption? Really? Did we become graduates to leave our brains at universities or what? Please, Dr. M, come up with something believable at least…
  5. On 12,000 Sarawakians, including 6,000 supporters of Gabriel Adit, joining PKR – Good, I’m so done with BN. I don’t care if PKR or DAP or PAS have bad track record or no track record, I prefer giving them the chance to create a track record. Let me repeat, I’m so done with BN.
  6. On the 350km Freedom Run – good work to the organisers! Thank God no one was arrested here. I was asked to join but I honestly cannot run, and I also was not free on that day. Funnily enough, I only knew about this the day before when a certain anonymous Malaysia Today helper called me.
  7. Khir Toyo does not do money politics – for a moment, I thought this was a headline on a parody report, like the ones in Private Eye. It wasn’t! Maybe it should be?
  8. Nazri tells Dr. M don’t be ‘celupar’ – whatever ‘celupar’ means, I actually don’t care. But good on Nazri. More people should tell Dr. M not to be ‘celupar’, whatever it means… Quite funny this one!

Just for fun, what do you think?
