Thursday 23rd October was a busy day for me. I rushed through the day to get to town by five (I was told five, but apparently, it was six) for the Forum on Blogging and Defamation Laws, organised by the Information Technology Committee of the Kuala Lumpur Bar.

The panel was pretty impressive,

The Panelists (l-r) Nizam, Foong & Ooi

On the whole, it was a good beginner’s workshop. You can learn more from their respective slides, click here and here. You might also want to check out Oon Yeoh’s “Can Links Be Defamatory“, Bhag Singh’s “Offences in Cyberspace” and Sonia Ramachandran’s “Cyber crimes: The Net is not in a legal vacuum“.

I think what’s important though was that there was an interest in the forum, and that people asked good and relatively salient questions. The panelists also managed to respond well to all questions, and kudos to them for their participation, honestly!
